The short version
Aangan is free. Nothing on it is for sale. Nobody should ever ask you for money. Be honest, be decent, and look after the animals.
What Aangan is
A free platform where people in Pakistan can rehome animals, report lost and found pets, offer food and clothes they no longer need, and find nearby hospitals, vet clinics and donation centres.
Aangan connects people. We do not own, inspect, transport or guarantee anything listed on it.
Money
Nothing on Aangan costs money. Not to use, not to list, not to receive.
If anyone asks you for payment — an advance, a deposit, a booking fee, transport costs, anything — it is a scam. Do not pay. Report them.
This includes fostering. Aangan is not a paid boarding service.
Your account
- You must be 13 or older
- One account per person
- You are responsible for what you post
- Do not impersonate anyone
What you must not do
- Sell anything, or ask for money in any form
- Post animals for breeding, fighting, or resale
- Post fake listings, or listings for animals you do not have
- Harass, threaten or abuse anyone
- Post someone else's photographs as your own
- Share other people's contact details without permission
- Use Aangan for anything illegal
We remove listings and ban accounts for any of the above, without warning.
Animals
If you list an animal, you are stating that it is yours to rehome, that you have described its health and temperament honestly, and that you are not being paid.
If you adopt an animal, you are taking responsibility for its care.
We screen adopters by asking questions, but we cannot verify what anyone tells us. Meet in person. Ask questions. Trust your instincts.
Meeting people
Everything on Aangan involves meeting strangers. Meet in a public place. Bring someone with you. Tell somebody where you are going.
We are not responsible for what happens when you meet someone from the platform.
Reviews and removals
Every listing is checked by a person before it goes public. We may remove anything, at any time, without explanation. We are not obliged to publish anything.
The map
Locations on our map are collected from public information and from users. Hours and phone numbers change. Call ahead. We do not guarantee that any place is open, accepting patients, or still operating.
In a genuine emergency, call Rescue 1122, Edhi on 115, or Chhipa on 1020 directly.
No warranty
Aangan is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always work, always be available, or always be accurate. We are one person building something useful, not a company with guarantees.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything that happens as a result of using Aangan — including anything involving an animal, a meeting, a transaction, or information on the map.
Changes
We may change these terms. Continued use means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan.
Copyright and takedowns
Aangan hosts photographs uploaded by users. We do not own them and we cannot verify who took them.
If you believe someone has uploaded your photograph without permission, email aangan.karachi@gmail.com with the listing URL, a description of the photograph, proof you own it such as the original file or where it was first published, and your name and contact details.
We remove genuinely infringing content promptly, usually within 48 hours.
If your listing was removed and you believe that was wrong, reply to the removal email and we will look again.
Repeat infringement results in the account being removed.
